Thesis Proposal

The main objective of this thesis redesign is to decrease the building's energy consumption while still upholding the design criteria established by Reese Engineering. This is going to be accomplished, hopefully, by utilizing a geothermal or ground source heat pump system. The system will be analyzed on a number of issues, including; initial cost, construction time and cost, energy savings, maintenance, and indoor environmental quality.

THESIS PROPOSAL EXECUTIVE SUMMARY (pdf)

Electrical Breadth Topic

The building's electrical systems will be analyzed due to the introduction of a new mechanical system. The mechanical system could alter the sizing of electrical equipment and therefore needs to be considered in design.

Construction Managment Breadth Topic

The construction of a geothermal well site can be costly and time consuming and can sometimes inflate the project's budget and schedule. This will be examined to ensure the system is advantageous.
